The multiboot DVD attached to this edition contains the 4 distributions, namely:
You will find in this magazine an introduction to each of this major actors in order to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. Keep in mind that your needs may and probably will evolve (testing a distribution within a couple of hours is different than using it for years). Most of what you will learn in one distribution will be usable in another one (GNOME tools, KDE tools, shells commands are distribution-agnostic).
Each distribution tries to provide the best experience “out-of-the-box”, so we offer you the possibility to test the Live edition in order to verify if your specific hardware setup is correctly handled. Using this Live mode allows to check thoroughly the distribution's fitness to your needs without altering the disk partitioning. If you appreciate what you have seen, you just need to click on the Install icon on the desktop to have the distribution on your hard drive.
Let's enter in the GNU/Linux world, if you are discovering it or already enjoying its performance on a daily basis, we offer you a unique chance to evaluate what each distribution can offer you.
