Product Information

Linux Identity magazine feels proud to bring you openSUSE 11.1. It provides you a complete DVD version (for 32 and 64-bit architectures). The magazine will take you through an installation process and how to keep your machine up to date with some of the best tools that openSUSE community offers.

openSUSE 11.1 offers cutting edge synchronization support for Apple iPod and Google's Android G1 Phones. 11.1 also has out-of-the-box support for video conferencing. This is the first release to be entirely built using the openSUSE build service.

openSUSE 11.1 also brings in a lot of innovative and new applications. This is the first community distro release to hold Nomad – the remote desktop access tool. With Nomad you should be able to access remote machines without having to lose the beautiful windowing special effects introduced to us via Compiz fusion.

Novell's Edition of OpenOffice.org is also included with the distro which provides the ability to work across .ODF OOXML file formats. The whole desktop is beagle searchable and accessibility enabled.

This release also brings in Ekiga – a SIP based conferencing tool. This makes openSUSE 11.1 suitable for audio and video conferencing out of the box. A lot of driver updates have been made for cameras and USB webcams.
